Service Process — Second Tour Timeworks

Documentation & Transparency

Every job, fully documented.

When your watch arrives, you receive a shared Google Drive folder. Each stage below is documented in real time — you see exactly what we see, at every step.

01

Intake

Photos of your watch as received — case, dial, crown, caseback, bracelet. An honest record of condition before anything is touched.

1-Intake folder

02

Disassembly

Photos as the movement comes apart. Worn parts, dried lubricants, and prior workmanship issues documented before decisions are made.

2-Disassembly folder

03

Assembly

Cleaned, lubricated, and reassembled. Photos of the movement back together and the case sealed up.

3-Assembly folder

04

Time-keeping results

Timegrapher readings showing amplitude, beat error, and rate across multiple positions. For quartz, you will see readings on a Seiko Quartztester QT-99. You see the numbers, not just my word for it.

4-Time-Keeping Results folder

05

Video updates & function checks

Video updates during service:

  • A narrated walk-through of the macro disassembly photos — what I found, what I recommend, and why
  • A final function check confirming all complications operating correctly before the watch ships back

Full Process

How a service works, start to finish.

The complete workflow — including quoting, communication, and shipping — for customers who want to understand every step.

1

Quote & Scheduling

After reviewing your watch and your goals, I provide an estimated service quote. Once approved, your service is scheduled.

2

Deposit (40% of Labor Estimate)

A 40% deposit secures bench time and applies toward the final invoice. Replacement parts are handled later after inspection and approval.

3

Customer Ships the Watch

After deposit payment, you ship the watch. Upon arrival it is stored securely until it reaches the bench.

4

Intake Documentation & Baseline Readings

Condition is documented with photos. If running, baseline performance is recorded using a timegrapher or quartz tester.

5

Disassembly, Inspection & Findings

The movement is fully disassembled and inspected. Wear, damage, missing parts, or prior workmanship issues are documented.

6

Communication & Parts Approval

Any additional issues or parts requirements are communicated clearly before proceeding. No work continues without approval.

7

Cleaning & Case Preparation

Components undergo structured pre-cleaning and a full mechanical cleaning cycle. Cases and bracelets are cleaned separately.

8

Reassembly & Lubrication

Reassembly follows factory specifications when available. Correct Moebius lubricants are applied precisely.

9

Testing, Stabilization & Regulation

Performance is recorded and allowed to stabilize. Final regulation occurs after 24–48 hours.

10

Proof of Performance

A final function check video is provided before shipment as well as macro detail pictures.

11

Final Invoice & Return Shipping

A final invoice is issued for remaining labor, approved parts, and return shipping. After payment, the watch ships securely, including any replaced items.

Goal: Transparent communication, documented work, and verified performance — so you know exactly what was done and why.
